  • Needs a bit of work but pretty good. Seems to have an issue with homophones (it translated assault and battery as saldırı ve pil) and it also couldn't find the Turkish equivalent for ''battlements'' despite somehow finding the equivalent for machicolations.

        Minimum of 1 year of Audio Description writing experience.

        Receive files from Project Manager and confirm due date.

        Inform Project Manager immediately of any technical issues with the file; no audio or video, damaged or incomplete.

        Ensure script meets the standards of audio description, including avoiding overlap with dialogue.

        Output script with Timecode markers.

        Proofread/QC final project for accuracy/typos etc.

        Return script and project on or before due date to Project Manager.

        Review short videos from corporate/multimedia clients, as requested, to determine if freeze frames are necessary.

        Ensure that computer and programs are up to date.

        The Opportunity

        The Audio Project Manager is responsible to create/maintain production schedules through close work relationships with clients, staff and freelancers. Communicating day-to-day and switching back and forth between English and Brazilian Portuguese alike with the different stakeholders throughout the production lifecycle of the voice over or dubbing project is key. This role will also coordinate the distribution of assets, project information and keep the project management system updated.

        The Audio Project Manager will often manage multiple projects of different sizes, genres for multiple clients concurrently.

        Attention to detail and multi-tasking are key to this role to ensure a clear understanding of project and client needs are met within timeframe constraint set for each project.

        What You'll Do:

        • Work shoulder to shoulder with clients and production teams on project specifications and production milestones
        • Liaise between clients / production.
        • Nurture the relationships with professional, open, concise and friendly communication
        • Plan projects / Define deliverables
        • Coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure project instructions are well adhered to, that client expectations and the level of QA expected in SLA are met.
        • Continuously update client./ production teams on progress of projects
        • Ensure instructions and processes are spelled out clearly and are followed for each production and ensure QA sign-offs are obtained.
        • Work with the production team and client to determine project milestones and creative output
        • Update project management system (obtain PO from clients, issue WOs internally) and ensure project data and reporting is accurate, updated and complete at all times.
        • Escalate any concerns or issues that arise on a project to the line manager and/or client and agree how to best manage and bring focus to the solutions on hand.


        • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in post-production, content distribution, broadcasting or at a Dubbing Studio as a project manager or producer dealing directly with dubbing and voice over.
        • Degree in Business, Film, Television, Translation, Computer Science or Games Development preferred
        • Excellent English skills – must be fully bilingual English / Brazilian Portuguese and any other language a plus
        • Excellent knowledge of MAC, PC and MS Office suite is essential
        • Ability to cope under pressure and to work within tight deadlines.
        • Familiarity with technical lingo of post and audio production
        • Familiarity with the voice over and dubbing process
        • Familiarity with the script translation/adaptation process
        • Familiarity with the voice casting process
        • Must have a knack for multi-tasking

        Project Management at translate plus is a very diverse and interesting role. You will be dealing with a variety of projects for international clients, such as written translations, interpreting assignments, voice-over recordings, subtitling and more. We handle any language service our clients require, so no two clients are the same, which means life at translate plus is never boring. Furthermore, you will be dealing with the whole project cycle which means the success of each project is in your hands.

        You need to show common sense, have a “can do” attitude, enjoy a busy environment and be adept at multi-tasking. Also, good computer literacy is key and you should be eager to strengthen and develop your personal and technical skills. One of the most important attributes you can bring to this role is to stay calm when times are busy.         Key responsibilities include:

        • Receiving transcreation/translation projects from clients
        • Analysing the transcreation/translation projects (word count, languages, file type etc.)
        • Preparing translation packages
        • Sourcing and co-ordination of translators, file engineers and desktop publishing specialists
        • Effective communication with clients, linguists and colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction
        • Proofreading and QA-checking of translations

        Skills and experience required for Transcreation Project Manager:

        • Strong oral and written English skills
        • Educated to degree level (ideally in translation studies or languages in general)
        • Experience from a similar role within the language industry
        • Excellent computer literacy
        • Linguistic skills with the ability to assess quality and completeness of translations in any language
        • Being able to multi-task, prioritise and stay calm under pressure
        • Taking pride in delivering a high-quality service

        It would be a bonus, but not a must, if you have one or more of the following criteria:

        • Previous use of CAT tools, including Trados Studio, XBench, Transit or other applications
